ATLANTA -- Braves pitching coach Roger McDowell has been placed on administrative leave while they investigate allegations he made homophobic comments and sexual gestures towards fans at AT&T Park in San Francisco last weekend. General manager Frank Wren hopes to conclude the team’s investigation this weekend. Manager Fredi Gonzalez doesn’t think McDowell will lose his job as a result. “In my opinion, it shouldn’t. It really shouldn’t,” Gonzalez said. “I’m sure there’s some hoops he’s going to go through, some
apologizing, which he should have to go through." "But for a person to
lose their job, I wouldn’t think so. I hope it doesn’t.” |
